Bugatti Veyron
The Veyron may be the ultimate exotic sports car. It is a 1,001-horsepower, $1.2 million super sports car that can reach a top speed of 252 mph in refined elegance. The 16-cylinder Veyron crushes many traditional automotive standards and receives its North American production premiere in Los Angeles.
The production Veyron was shown for the first time on October 19, 2005 at the Tokyo Motor Show. The official United States launch for the production version occurred at the 2006 Los Angeles International Auto Show in January. Visual differences between the prototype and production Veyrons are slight, but noticeable marks include the addition of marker lights or reflectors on the front fenders and a more pronounced "dorsal spine" on the hood (reminiscent of the Bugatti Atlantic), especially near the windshield.
Koenigsegg CCXR Edition
The CCXR from Koenigsegg will take you to an entirely new level of performance. It is a derivative of the CCX, with a highly modified engine that can run on E85 and E100 Biofuel as well as normal 98 octane petrol (Europe). When run on regular petrol, the 4.7 litre twin-supercharged Koenigsegg engine delivers 806 Bhp, but this figure rises to an astonishing 1018 Bhp when the car is run on E85 Biofuel.
The CCXR is the first green supercar in the world and thereby sets a great example for others to follow. Since the ethanol in E85 fuel has a much higher octane rating and internal cooling capacity, the engine can run with higher compression, boost pressure and more spark advance compared to the normal petrol-fuelled CCX, whilst still maintaining the same exhaust temperature
Noble Automotive M15
This machine represents a whole new philosophy and takes the core values of dynamic excellence, lightweight engineering, value-for-money and blistering performance to a whole new level of comfort, refinement and everyday usability. There's even room for luggage
With 455 bhp and 455lb ft of torque, it's also the most powerful production car to leave the Leicestershire factory, capable of hitting 60 mph from standstill in less than 3.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 185 mph. It is, therefore, a credible and more exclusive alternative to other supercars.
Koenigsegg CCX
The CCX is the latest iteration of the Koenigsegg CC family. The CCX is in many aspects a new car since it has been re-engineered to comply with the US regulation and market demands. Still, it has been a key issue for the Koenigsegg Team to keep the distinctive and record breaking CC shape. We believe it is important to avoid trends and instead hone the aerodynamic shape of the CC range for the future, only enhancing its unique look and appearance with tighter lines and a more aggressive stance. We also believe in continuity. A new Koenigsegg shall show a clear lineage from its predecessor and shall not follow any other design trends – but enhance its already proven concept and shape to perfection. CCX stands for Competition Coupe X. The CCX commemorates the 10th anniversary of the completion and test drive of the first CC maiden prototype, which rolled out from the R&D Department in 1996.
Ferrari F40
The Ferrari F40 was THE car of the 1980s supercar boom. It was THE poster car on the wall of nearly every teenage boy in the world. Its combination of towering performance, aggressive styling and outstanding handling hailed it as one of the best of the era. But it also benefited from the speculative boom in supercar values that drove up demand to unsustainable levels. Just over 1,300 Ferrari F40s were produced over a period of 3 years, making it one of the highest volume ultimate supercars that Ferrari have ever produced.... and still my favourite. I'd have it over any Ferrari any day!
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
The Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren is an amazing sports car and supercar co-developed by DaimlerChrysler and McLaren Cars. Most people presume "SLR" to stand for "Sportlich, Leicht, Rennsport" (German for "Sport; Light; Racing"). The car's base price is £300,000 or $455,500 (including $2500 shipping and $3000 gas-guzzler tax). According to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, September 2006 may mark an update to the SLR including a power increase for its supercharged V8 from 626 to 650 hp DIN (German horsepower numbers), an updated interior, 19-inch wheels, a firmer suspension, a new braking system and increased weight savings. New colors (blue exterior, tan interior) may also be available. Rob Moran, the U.S Representative for Merecedes-Benz, states, "We'll reveal it when It's ready".
